Turn compensation (curve control)

Precision Spraying in Every Curve

No more over- or underdosing in turns. Protect your crops, optimize application, and ensure even distribution—automatically.

“I used to be stressed about having a good distribution, especially in the corners. With LeapBox I don’t need to overapply or increase the dose. I know what I spray, at all places.”

When navigating curves or corners, traditional spraying often leads to overdosing on the inside and underdosing on the outside, resulting in uneven crop growth and increased disease risk. BBLeap’s Turn Compensation (Curve Control) solves this problem by dynamically adjusting the spray rate per nozzle in real time.

Maximize your yield, protect your crops, and eliminate waste – no matter the shape of your field.

How it works

An IMU is used to detect changes in the sprayer’s direction and rotational speeds especially when navigating curves or turns. With the knowledge of the sprayer dimensions and the position of the nozzles together with the rotational speed, the leapbox adjusts the spray application per nozzle by changing the opening time of each nozzle. Due to our ability to change the application rate of each nozzle in a large range the correct rate is always guaranteed.

Key benefits

  • Even distribution of your plant production products in the corners of your field
  • Reduced risk of crop diseases because there is no underdosing in the outside of corners
  • Don’t bully your crops by overdosing in the inside of a corner and thus continuous crop growth.

Frequently asked questions:

  • What problem does BBLeap's Turn Compensation (Curve Control) solve?
Traditional spraying often results in inconsistent application during turns, with overdosing on the inside and underdosing on the outside. This causes uneven crop growth and increases the risk of plant diseases in specific areas. BBLeap's Turn Compensation, also known as Curve Control, effectively eliminates this problem by ensuring precise and consistent spray delivery across the entire boom, even during turns. This prevents waste of resources and protects crops from unnecessary stress, resulting in optimal land productivity. It guarantees the correct application rate.
  • How does BBLeap's Curve Control technology work precisely?
BBLeap's Curve Control uses an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to detect the exact movement and rotational speed of the sprayer, especially in curves. With this data, combined with the sprayer's dimensions and nozzle positions, the LeapBox system adjusts the spray application per individual nozzle in real-time. By dynamically changing the opening time of each nozzle, the correct and desired amount of spray product is always guaranteed, regardless of driving speed or turning radius. This results in a perfectly uniform distribution of your plant production products.
  • What benefits does BBLeap's Curve Control offer for crop health?
BBLeap's Curve Control significantly contributes to improved crop health by providing a constant and precise application of crop protection products. It eliminates underdosing on the outside of curves, which reduces the risk of diseases. Simultaneously, it prevents overdosing on the inside, counteracting harmful stress for plants and ensuring continuous, uninterrupted growth. This uniform treatment maximizes the effectiveness of the products and supports crop vitality, which is essential for healthy and productive cultivation without damaging your crops.
  • How can precision spraying improve crop yield on irregular fields?
Precision spraying improves crop yield on irregular fields by applying spray products exactly where they are needed. This prevents both waste from overdosing and yield loss from underdosing. By giving each plant the optimal amount, diseases and pests are managed more effectively, while reducing unnecessary environmental burden. This results in healthier crops, more uniform growth, and a higher quality final product, directly contributing to maximum return on your agricultural investment, regardless of the field shape.
  • What are the long-term benefits of investing in advanced spraying technology?
Investing in advanced spraying technology offers long-term benefits that extend beyond immediate savings. It leads to more sustainable operations by significantly reducing the use of crop protection products, saving costs and decreasing the ecological footprint. Moreover, increased precision results in more consistent and higher crop yields year after year, strengthening your company's financial stability and competitive position. It contributes to healthier soil and a cleaner environment, preparing your enterprise for future regulations and a growing demand for sustainably produced food.
