From Startup Vision to Global Precision Spraying Pioneer
BBLeap was founded in 2019 by Peter Millenaar, Rieks Kampman, and Martijn van Alphen — three innovators with deep roots in agricultural technology. Their shared vision was to transform spraying from a field-level task to precision at the plant level, ushering in what they see as the third big step, ‘the leap’ in agriculture.
The journey began with the development of the LeapBox, a revolutionary system that turns any conventional sprayer into an excellent sprayer. Early collaborations with progressive farmers like Jacob van den Borne and Pieter Evenhuis helped them validate their vision and refine the technology in real-world conditions.
In just a few years, BBLeap grew from a startup idea into a global innovator, offering solutions that allow farmers to spray exactly what’s needed — no more, no less — improving crop health, yields, and sustainability.
Today, BBLeap continues to lead the way in plant-level precision. It is world wide the only technology that can spray at plant level. We are proving that farming can be smarter, more efficient, and better for the planet. There are now hundreds of active systems around the world.
Meet the founders of BBLeap
BBLeap was founded by Peter Millenaar, Martijn van Alphen en Rieks Kampman. While Peter and Martijn are located in the Netherlands, Hendrikus operates from South Africa. They have worked together for many years. In 2019 they decided to join forces and establish BBLeap. Learn more about their motivation and our first product LeapBox in their first interview.
