You do not buy it as a single boxed product. It is a configured system: LeapBox on your sprayer, combined with LeapSpace and high-resolution taskmaps, for Hi-Res Spot Spraying. LeapBox is BBLeap’s modular PWM system. It is built from the LeapCore, modules, valves, and power and data converters. It can be installed on all brands and types of sprayers and preferably communicates through CAN-bus. What is a spot spraying system?
A spot spraying system applies crop protection products only on defined spots, not across the whole field. In BBLeap’s Hi-Res Spot Spraying, LeapBox works with LeapSpace, high-resolution taskmaps and automated nozzle control to target only the areas that need treatment. According to BBLeap, the taskmaps can be made from drone or satellite data. They are uploaded to LeapSpace, and the sprayer follows them using GPS. How do you set up a spot spraying system?
Setup has two parts: hardware and data. For the hardware, LeapBox is installed on your sprayer. On a retrofit, this is done with support from local partners or partner technicians. LeapBox preferably communicates through CAN-bus. On a LeapEdition sprayer, the technology is already integrated at the factory. For the data, high-resolution taskmaps are uploaded to LeapSpace and sent to the sprayer. During spraying, nozzle control follows the map. Afterwards, an as-applied map is stored. The exact installation and calibration steps depend on your sprayer. Follow your installer’s instructions for nozzle checks; uploading a taskmap for execution is not a substitute for calibration.

When is a spot spraying system recommended?
Spot spraying makes the most sense when the problem you want to treat is patchy rather than spread across the whole field, and when you can map it, for example with drone or satellite images.
