Tree Profile Spraying

Targeted Application for Maximum Efficiency

Every part of a tree deserves the right protection. That’s why not every part of a tree needs the same amount of chemicals. Optimize your spray application by adjusting dosage per nozzle, reducing waste, and improving coverage.

Traditional orchard spraying applies a uniform rate across the entire tree, leading to over-application in sparse areas and under-application where it’s needed most. With BBLeap’s Tree Profile Spraying, you can fine-tune spray rates per section of the tree, ensuring precise protection with minimal waste.

Reduce runoff, lower costs, and give each part of the tree exactly what it needs.

How it works

We are able to assign a different rate to each nozzle. Because leaf distribution over a tree is not equal we can assign a lower application rate to the upper and lower nozzles while the nozzles in the middle of a tree are spraying a 100% dosage. This setting can be configured in the virtual terminal of BBLeap.

This functionality is compatible with LeapEye

“BBLeap is the future. The system is easy to use and precisely adjustable. I can now vary and spray exactly where the tree needs it. The application can be adjusted based on tree height, and individual sections can be turned off. This provides full control and better coverage.”

Frequently asked questions:

  • What is BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying and how does it optimize chemical application?
BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying is an advanced method for targeted application of crop protection products in orchards. While traditional methods often apply a uniform dose across the entire tree, this system allows precise adjustment of the spray dosage per tree section. This optimizes application by preventing over-application in sparser areas and providing adequate protection where it is essential. The result is more efficient use of resources, reduced waste, and improved coverage, contributing to both the effectiveness and sustainability of the spraying process.
  • How does BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying adjust the dosage per nozzle?
BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying assigns a specific dosage to each individual nozzle. This is crucial because leaf distribution within a tree is not uniform. The system allows for setting a lower application rate for the upper and lower nozzles, for instance, while the nozzles in the middle of the tree deliver 100% of the desired dosage. This configuration is easily managed through BBLeap's virtual terminal. Furthermore, this functionality is compatible with LeapEye, providing precise control over liquid output.
  • What key benefits does BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying offer growers?
For growers, BBLeap's Tree Profile Spraying offers significant advantages, as demonstrated by Job Duinen of Kessel Fruit. The system ensures that crop protection products are applied only where and when needed, leading to substantial savings on chemical costs. The precision of application also reduces runoff into the environment, thereby improving spraying efficiency and minimizing ecological impact. Users gain full control over the application, can adjust dosages based on tree height, and even switch off individual sections, resulting in better coverage and reliable outcomes.
  • How can precision spraying technology reduce chemical costs in fruit cultivation?
Precision spraying technology significantly contributes to reducing chemical costs in fruit cultivation by optimizing product application. Instead of spraying a uniform amount across the entire orchard, this technology enables precise dosage adjustment according to the specific needs of each tree section. This prevents over-application in sparser areas and ensures products are only deployed where truly needed. Such targeted use results in less waste and more efficient consumption of crop protection agents, directly leading to lower operational costs.
  • What benefits does variable-rate spraying offer for environmental sustainability in agriculture?
Variable-rate spraying offers substantial benefits for environmental sustainability in agriculture by minimizing the ecological footprint of crop protection. By applying products exclusively where and when needed, the total amount of chemicals used is drastically reduced. This not only limits runoff into soil and water but also lowers the exposure of non-target organisms. The targeted nature of this technology optimizes spraying effectiveness, leading to healthier crops with less impact on the surrounding ecosystem. It contributes to cleaner food production and a healthier world.
